This is another example of an early R&D prototype. As with all products, these toys go through many iterations and redesigns before the final design is released.
The 3 Rotor Flier went through a handful of iterations. Each of those iterations led to something new and innovated in its proceeding design. By printing each iteration, piecing it together, playing with it, and even breaking it, I was able to make progressive improvements on following designs.
Here we see the 3 Rotor Flier in an early design stage. The mounts for the rear ducts are printed in such a way that stress from inserting the ducts can easily break open the mount. So a clamp was designed to support the mounting points.
